Eligibility

GPODS is made for students and professionals who are at a Watershed Threshold in their academic or professional lives. The Watershed Threshold would signify a significant moment at which the professional would seek to transit into bigger roles in her/his career or scholarly pursuits. This would mean an effort which is catalyzed by GPODS, to delve deeper into areas of their respective interests or expertise by dedicating time and energy towards multi-disciplinary learning to hone their skills - all while developing an intra and inter-peer network of global leaders.;

• May work full time or part-time, but must commit to completing the 3-month program, starting from June 2021 till August 2021;
• Be open to working in or studying sectors outside their comfort zone;
• Basic knowledge of English language is required.

  ANSHUMAAN KRISHNAN AYYANGAR

  Anshumaan is one of the Directors at Astral Creations Private Limited, an undertaking focused on content, multimedia, design, governance & sustainability strategy. He had recently worked as the Summer School Cohort's Teaching Assistant during the Program for Future Leaders in Development at IIM Udaipur in June-July 2019. He has been the Director and the President of The Rotary-Interact Club of The PSBB Millennium School - Chennai, while remaining associated with crucial projects and initiatives that catered to the upliftment of society and the protection of the environment. He tends to focus most of his thoughts towards the betterment of his country and the world in general, and, loves reading books and browsing the internet to satisfy his perpetual hunger for knowledge. Anshumaan is a postgraduate Mechanical Engineer from the University of Mumbai, who specializes in Product Design and Development. He is also a KPMG-certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and a MSME-certified Project Manager. He aspires to specialize further in Technology Policy, and become a technopreneur and a technocrat.

  Aryan Agarwal

  Aryan works as a Research Associate with PRADAN. His project involves measuring collective action and political participation of indigenous women in Madhya Pradesh. In the past, he has worked as a Research Analyst with O.P. Jindal Global University and as a Senior Manager with Qrius where he headed the Research team.

  Aryan holds a major degree in Economics Research with a Management Studies minor from Shiv Nadar University. He graduated a semester early with high-distinction. During his undergraduate, he was also an Ontario-India scholar at the University of Guelph.

  Sabeela Siddiqui

  Sabeela holds a Masters’ degree in Public Policy and Governance from Azim Premji University, Bangalore, India. She has transformed a remote village into a ‘Model Village’ within a year while working with the State government of Maharashtra as Chief Ministers’ Rural Development Fellow. Also, she has given Policy recommendations to the State government. She has worked with a Members’ of Parliament (MP) on performance measurement of welfare schemes, performance of the Prime Minister of India, and the MP. As a way to honor her agrarian roots, Sabeela aspires to work on pro-farmer agrarian policies. She is exploring spirituality through meditation and vipassana. She enjoys talking about ‘self’ and psychoanalysis. She is a good listener who hears people's emotional complexities without judging.

  Born and brought up in the Gopalganj district of the state of Bihar in India, I am currently a fourth-year master’s student majoring in Development Studies at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Coming from a rural part of the country, I have experienced the day-to-day challenges of living in a place where governmental institutions and policies are dissociated from the lives of the populace and I aspire to work in this domain to bridge that gap. I have gained experience in the domain of governance and policy formulation while being part of various activities in my college. I have also worked in development sector projects in parts of rural India, trying to understand the impacts and shortcomings of government policy, and how an individual can contribute to bringing effectiveness. Owing to my passion to bring about a positive change in the lives of people, I plan to work in the domains of governance and policy formulation.

  Veerangna Kohli

  Veerangna holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Lady Shri Ram College for Women and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Development Economics from the University of Göttingen, Germany. Her research areas primarily revolve around Economics and Education. She has previously interned with think tanks like CDFI(IFMR) and NITI Aayog. Additionally, as a Junior Researcher with CORD, India, she gained experience in primary and secondary research and analysis of data using mixed methods. In the future, she wishes to work in a collaborative context to drive action driven research which intersects directly with the policy domain. Outside of academia, she engages herself actively in social work, likes playing the piano and doing Mandala Art!

He is passionate about economic development and empowerment.He has worked on many developmental projects through NGOs and within the CSR context for the private sector.He currently serves as Curator for 2019-2020 of the Georgetown hub, a member of the Global Shapers Community. He is also a Global Peace Ambassador for year 2019-2021.He is presently, working on completing his MBA with the University of the West Indies, Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business.On the lighter side,Richard enjoys playing and watching cricket and eating bhaigan choka .

Presently pursuing Masters in Public Policy from IDS, University of Sussex , Kanika aspires to understand the lacuna between policy making and policy implementation and address the key issues in India from her experiences gained there by learning under the tutelage of pioneers such as Robert Chambers . Her diverse experiences of working in development sector gave her a broader understanding of policy issues which fuelled her passion to work in this field. Besides policy issues she is equally passionate about tea. A globertrotter at heart, she aspires to travel the world and write a book someday.

  My name is Ayushi Arora, I'm a 2018 law graduate from Government Law College, Mumbai. Post the studies I have been working as a fellow at Teach For India, Ahmedabad. Currently, I am teaching in an affordable all-girls' private school, working and researching towards ed-equity along with building leadership qualities in the girls while giving them access and exposure to create an altered life path. I'm also working as a research intern with Centre for Management of Health Services, IIM-Ahmedabad towards women menstruation and hygiene in the communities of Ahmedabad. As a part of this project, we are designing intervention on the basis of the analysed quantitative data and qualitative data collected through focused group discussion and in-depth interviews.
