Arvind Kumar
Born and brought up in the Gopalganj district of the state of Bihar in India, I am currently a fourth-year master’s student majoring in Development Studies at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Coming from a rural part of the country, I have experienced the day-to-day challenges of living in a place where governmental institutions and policies are dissociated from the lives of the populace and I aspire to work in this domain to bridge that gap.
I have gained experience in the domain of governance and policy formulation while being part of various activities in my college. I have also worked in development sector projects in parts of rural India, trying to understand the impacts and shortcomings of government policy, and how an individual can contribute to bringing effectiveness. Owing to my passion to bring about a positive change in the lives of people, I plan to work in the domains of governance and policy formulation.
